ABOUT ME

I'm an Austin, Texas based investor at Valterra Partners, where I focus on infrastructure-adjacent private equity investing. I have experience in Digital and AI Infrastructure, Infrastructure and Industrial Services, Energy, Specialty Manufacturing and Transportation. At Valterra, I primarily focus on the Digital and AI Infrastructure, Transportation, and Energy verticals.

Learn more about my background, investment experience, and interests below.

  • I grew up in Austin, TX and was always interested in technology as a kid–I scraped together funds to build a basic gaming PC at 13. I was on the debate team in high school which was a good creative outlet for developing a well-researched thesis and public speaking skills.

  • I studied Finance with a minor in Political Science at Southern Methodist University. College was where I developed my interest in markets and investing, which has driven my professional career to-date. I was in the Alternative Asset Management program at SMU which focused on investment banking, private equity and hedge funds.

  • After school, I worked at UBS Investment Bank in the Energy group. Afterwards, I worked at Cotton Creek Capital Management, a lower middle market private equity firm. I joined Valterra Partners in late 2022.

Select companies I work with as part of my job at Valterra Partners:

  • Hivelocity – Global Infrastructure as a Service provider of data center colocation, bare metal, private cloud, VPS, network and security services.
  • Aero Aggregates – Producer of foamed glass aggregate in North America, utilized primarily in the infrastructure construction end-market.

Select companies I previously worked with:

  • Vecta Environmental Services – Diversified infrastructure and industrial service provider (acquired by Silver Oak Services Partners).
  • Seatex – Specialty chemical manufacturer and provider of blending, reactionary, manufacturing and packaging services (acquired by The Riverside Company).
  • I love outdoor sports (running, cycling/mountain biking, skiing). At one point I was the Strava local legend of the popular bridge in the banner photo at the top–an achievement that rewards dedication bordering on obsession.
  • I enjoy golfing and golf course architecture. Traveling to new places and playing new courses is one of my favorite things to do.
  • I have consistently weightlifted since college. Lifting creates a positive feedback loop and rewards consistency with steady, tangible improvements over time (the iron doesn't lie!).
  • I really enjoy cooking and grilling in particular, and am always trying new recipes and methods.
  • Landscaping and I have a love-hate relationship. It is incredibly rewarding and builds character, and can be relaxing if done correctly.
  • I enjoy reading and doing deep research on current events and other topics like financial markets, business, geopolitics, sports and technology.
